A Twist On A Classic
New Balance 57/40

New Balance is kicking off 2021 with the new 57/40 silhouette. This new shoe is a reinterpretation of one of the brand’s iconic models — the New Balance 574, which originally debuted in 1988.

Reintroduced with a fresh and contemporary feel, the New Balance 57/40 is based around the classic silhouette of the 574 with some key modernisations — the N logo is enlarged, in a similar fashion to the popular 327, and supported by an additional layer of reflective material for a even more exaggerated and bold appearance. The sole unit is a stack of two midsoles, with the wider wavy sole taking inspiration from the nineties. The second midsole and the enlarged off-road outsole follow the traditional look of the 574.

The 57/40 debut drop will feature two colourways, each featuring a neutral background of either black or white complemented with rainbow coloured details, including the colourful NB logo on the tongue. Premium quality materials are selected for the upper — a mix of leather, suede, and mesh.

The New Balance 57/40 will be available from 9 January. More styles with different colour palettes and material mixes can be expected throughout 2021.
