Aged In Sakura Cask
Suntory Whisky Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2021

The surge in demand for Japanese whisky in recent years has led to several connoisseurs’ favourites being discontinued, as there’s simply not enough stock that meets the specific age requirement. On the bright side, distilleries are spending more time creating ‘no age statement’ (NAS) whiskies that are interestingly blended. Suntory has just announced a promising-sounding new release from Hibiki – the distillery’s most premium brand for blended whisky.

Dubbed “Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2021”, the limited edition is blended using the original Hibiki base and new whisky that has been aged in cherry blossom wood barrels. The result is a slightly floral nose with a refreshing palate and lingering, harmonious finish, with an ABV of 43%. The special edition is targeted for gifts and celebrations, with a festive, crimson red branding on the label. It comes in a nice looking box that features blooming sakura graphics.

Hibiki Blossom Harmony is set for release in Japan starting from 25 May, and is affordably priced at ¥8000. Suntory hasn’t mentioned any plan for an international release, making it even more tempting for overseas whisky lovers.
