German fashion designer Bernhard Willhelm has been bringing us some of the most eclectic, quirky yet fun collections in the industry for two decades. From his early days in Antwerp to his current residence in Los Angeles, Willhelm has gathered a long list of collaborative projects under his belt. Spanish shoemaker Camper is one of Willhelm’s long term collaborator, and with the 10th anniversary of Himalayan – one of the innovative styles created from this partnership, Willhelm returns to revisit this iconic design.
While the original design features tubular rope laces and multi-material uppers, Willhelm takes his inspiration from soccer socks for the latest rendition. The famous signature zigzag outsole crafted from TPU is now paired with furry Jacquard fabric inspired by large knit elastic yarn and Japanese textiles. The memory foam insole offers extra comfort for every step. The minimal design is available in three styles, including two sock boots presented in blends of black and off-white and a knee-high boot in all black.
