1964 Ferrari 250 GT/L Berlinetta ‘Lusso’ by Scaglietti
A rare beauty hits the auction block.

While I love the sleek, streamlined beauty and unparalleled performance of modern day Ferraris, it’s hard to deny the timeless appeal of the Prancing Horse’s classic models. A great example of this — and perhaps one of the finest automobiles ever built — is the 1964 Ferrari 250 GT/L Berlinetta ‘Lusso’ by Scaglietti, a deadstock, special-edition (think BMW’s M or Mercedes-Benz’s AMG) speedster that’s being put on the auction block this September by RM Sotheby’s.

Featuring its original color combination and matching numbers, this particular 250 features a 240-horsepower V-12 that was recently rebuilt with triple Weber carburetors, a four-speed manual, and an independent front suspension. Rare — both in terms of beauty and availability — it’s a stunning automobile that should fetch a pretty penny in London later this year.
