Most concours events select a countryside location with picturesque nature as the background to display their beautiful classic cars. It makes sense to match man-made and natural beauty of course, but a city location would certainly be more convenient. Enter the inaugural London City Concours, which took place just last week.

Held right in the financial district of London, the event featured 80 exceptional cars, from 1900s historics to the latest bespoke artworks. There were also those built for speed like Le Mans race cars and even the odd American muscle car. Besides the official showcase, manufacturers and classic car dealers were presenting their best machines for sale, including an AC Cobras, Lancia Stratos and numerous rare Ferraris. With additional art and watch stands as well as live jazz and champagne, the event certainly served as a welcome respite from the city for urban dwellers.
