The Perfect Weekend
Goodwood Members' Meeting 2017

The 75th Goodwood Members’ Meeting took place at the iconic 2.40-mile West Sussex race circuit over the past weekend, bringing thousands of Goodwood Road and Racing Club members and motorsport fans to the historic venue for plenty of wheel-to-wheel race action.

The two-day event is organised by Goodwood’s Lord March and is designed to recreate the atmosphere and spirit of the original BARC Members’ Meetings held at the venue throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Besides a full programme of racing, the Members’ Meeting features all kinds of cars from classic tin-tops and GTs, to motorcycles and open wheeled Formula 3 as well as F1 machines.

This year’s gathering featured parades celebrating three of the most iconic periods in motorsport history: 3-litre Sports Prototypes, Legends of GT1 and Group A Touring Cars. Legendary sports prototypes from the likes of Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Matra, Lola and Mirage were well-represented as well as a fascinating collection of the late-1990s and early 2000s endurance racing cars. Fans of early Group A pioneers such as the Rover SD1, BMW 635CSI and Volvo 240 Turbo had their moments too when these tarmac brawlers made their grand entrance on the circuit.

Goodwood has excelled over the last few years when it comes to media coverage, perfectly illustrated by this four-hour long recap video below. If you’d like to see it all in person next time around, sign up for the 76th Members’ Meeting 2018 ticket alert here.
