The Definite Race Winner
Ferrari 166 to appear at Concours of Elegance

While Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este completed last month, plenty of vintage car events are waiting for enthusiasts, such as the Concours of Elegance at the Hampton Court Palace in the UK. The event will take place on 6-8 September this year, where it will bring together four examples of the significant Ferrari 166 for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the 166MM Barchetta’s race victories at Le Mans, Spa and the Mille Miglia.

First is the ex-works #0008M that won both Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1949, an achievement that has not been replicated by any marque. Up next is another works-entry, #0010M, which triumphed at the 1949 24 Hours of Spa and has resided in the US for last 50 years and is crossing the pond for the first time. Former Fiat and Ferrari owner, Gianni Agnelli’s commissioned two-tone blue and green #0064M, which was a race winner at Spa, is also set to appear alongside #0006M, the 1949 Mille Miglia runner that was also a Concorso d’Eleganza winner decades ago and in the latest rendition. Visitors will also be able to see two examples of 212 Export Barchetta, which is the successor of the 166, as well as over 60 rare vehicles.
