Sustainable F1 concept
Alfa Romeo AW30

Speculation on whether Alfa Romeo will return to Formula One is in the air after Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, revealed his wish to see the Italian marque return to the racetrack after over 30 years of absence. While everyone is waiting patiently for a further update on the subject, Turkish industrial designer Olcay Tuncay Karabulut recently published his dream Formula One Concept: Alfa Romeo AW30.

His concept references the 2017 Formula One rulebook, so there are some dramatic differences in appearance. AW30 is much lower and longer and with a wider wheelbase and front wing compared with current Grand Prix racers. Karabulut’s vision is more than just the look, though. The concept generates 1,000 hp and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in around 3 seconds with a top speed of 400 km/h using purely renewable energy. Engine power is via a solar rechargeable battery pack; the car also benefits from wind power as air channels through the bodywork. While it sounds like a fairytale at the moment but conquering these technologies would offer endless possibilities.
