Souvenirs from the World’s Worst Hotel
Banksy releases new souvenirs for The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem

British street artist Banksy opened “The Walled Off Hotel” in Bethlehem last year. It’s a three-storey art hotel that claims to offer the “worst view of any hotel in the world”, as it is located along Israeli’s controversial separation barrier, a 400-mile wall that cuts through the West Bank. Inside, the hotel is filled with various proactive artworks (which of course, include Banksy’s work), making the hotel a popular tourist destination for many.

Just like many other hotels, the Walled Off has its own gift shop that sells exclusive items created by Banksy for the hotel. Shown here are the latest range of ‘souvenir collectables’ from Banksy dubbed “Defeated”, which are designed based around the idea of anticipating the day the concrete menace has been defeated and feral youth scribble on its skeletal remains. All of these are hand painted by craftspeople in the local area. However, they are available to purchase at the store only, with all profits from sales going towards sustaining the hotel and social projects.
