Breitling Emergency Night Mission
These days many gadgets and apps utilise GPS to provide location-related functions and services, and most of them rely on Wi-Fi or a mobile network for connectivity. There are certain situations where these networks aren’t available, such as an emergency in the midst of a hike for example; then things may get tricky. Fortunately, there are alternative systems widely used by professionals and adventurers, and Cospas-Sarsat is the one that is synonymous with all-terrain safety.
The new Breitling Emergency Night Mission watches are optimised versions of the original Breitling Emergency, which was the first wristwatch equipped with a built-in dual frequency personal locator beacon. Its miniaturised transmitter and primary integrated antenna system now communicate with the international Cospas-Sarsat satellite system, making the watch a sworn-by tool for triggering alerts and then accurately guiding search and rescue operations in case of emergency.
Three new special edition options are available, and they all feature a lightweight but sturdy black titanium case. Option one comes with orange hands and hour-marks on a black dial with a matching orange rubber strap. Choice two has the same composition but in yellow. The third special edition has a blue mother-of-pearl dial and rubber strap of the same colour. Each watch in the series is 51 mm in diamete, highly water-resistant, and supported by an in-house SuperQuartz automatic chronograph movement officially certified by COSC.
