1960 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Convertible ”3G”

Long term Gran Turismo series gamers may find the above classic car pretty familiar. This particular 1960 Chevrolet Corvette “3G” was heavily modified by Art Morrison. In 2006 it was named the  Best Hot Rod in the Sony Grand Turismo Award at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, leading to its appearance in Gran Turismo 5 and 6. This TV game star will soon be heading to Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction next January.

As explained by Barrett-Jackson, the 3G name represents “the car’s ability relative to gravitational forces, specifically 1G in acceleration, 1G in braking and 1G around a skid pad.” The GT Sport chassis features C5 Corvette front suspension and adjustable coilovers, and the all-aluminum 427ci Bill Mitchell small-block engine delivers 538hp and 517lb ft of torque. The apperance features various changes also including new inner fender panels, functional brake duct scoops, roll hoops and a painted dash with carbon-fibre trim, not to mention the contrasting slivery body and red leather interior.
