More Than A New Season
EA Sports FC 27

EA Sports FC 27 arrives with the familiar challenge facing any annual football game: finding meaningful ways to move forward without changing what already works. This year, EA’s answer is less about one headline addition and more about giving players greater control on the pitch, alongside substantial new features for Career, Ultimate Team, and Clubs.

Gameplay has received one of its broader revisions. AI-controlled defenders are less likely to make automatic tackles, placing greater emphasis on switching players, positioning, and manually timing challenges. Attacking movement has also been reworked, with smarter runs into space, manually triggered curved runs, and more freedom when setting up corners. Crosses now respond more closely to aim and power rather than automatically finding a teammate, while through balls follow directional input more strictly.

Off the pitch, Manager Career gains a rebuilt transfer market. Player values now react to factors including form, potential, and club spending power, while rival teams bid more actively and negotiations gain options such as performance and buy-back clauses. Dynamic Overall Ratings can also change according to form, morale, and fitness.

Ultimate Team introduces the FUT Gallery, creating a permanent record of Player Items that have passed through a club. Completing themed sets raises the Gallery Level and unlocks rewards, while new branching Evolution pathways and streamlined Squad Building Challenges provide further ways to develop and exchange players.

One of FC 27’s most substantial additions is The Grounds, a shared social space built around three football-inspired districts. Up to 100 players can occupy the same world, meet friends, play small-sided matches and develop their Virtual Pro, with Clubs integrated into the wider experience. The mode is limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

FC 27 also expands on the series’ familiar emphasis on authenticity. More than 21,000 licensed players are represented across over 800 clubs and national teams, with more than 35 leagues and 140 stadiums included. The game also retains major competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, alongside domestic leagues including the Premier League, Bundesliga and LaLiga, as well as a growing selection of women’s competitions.

EA Sports FC 27 launches worldwide on 25 September 2026 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Ultimate Edition early access began on 18 September.
