Pure Electric SUV
Bollinger B1

Founded by Robert Bollinger, a former Manhattan advertising executive and skincare entrepreneur, the New York-based EV startup Bollinger Motors has created their “B1” all-electric truck, which they claim is the world’s first pure-electric SUV.

Sporting a Land Rover Defender-like silhouette in “Gunhouse” grey and black, the B1 prototype is 3,810 mm long, 1,867 mm wide and 73.5-inches tall. Customers can choose either a 60 kWh or a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range between recharges of 200 km to around 320 km. Bollinger claims its lower output 60 kWh B1 is rechargeable in seven hours using a household plug socket, or 45 minutes with a fast charger. The B1 claims a total output of 360 horsepower and 640 Nm, with a 0 to 60 mph sprint in just 4.5 seconds, and a top speed of 127 miles per hour.

Thanks to its lightweight aluminium body, the B1 weighs only 1,800 kg with a 50/50 weight distribution and can tow up to 2,700 kg. Other features include AM/FM radio with Bluetooth capability, AUX input for mp3 players, an SD/USB flash reader and twin 110-volt power outlets.

Bollinger Motors is searching for a manufacturing partner in the U.S.; if it is successful, the first B1 will be delivered about 19 months after the start of production and priced around US$60,000.
