Honda Augmented Driving Concept

For the upcoming CES happening next January in Las Vegas, Honda will introduce an interesting concept addressing the cultural transition to autonomous vehicles. The Augmented Driving Concept will allow drivers to experience the emotion and thrill of driving while freed from the responsibility of actual driving the car in the autonomous future.

Serving as a seamless transition from autonomous to semi-autonomous driving, the Augmented Driving Concept features more than eight modes between fully autonomous and semi-autonomous operation. With the help of numerous sensors and an autonomous driving system always on standby, the driver’s action is constantly monitored, and the system will take over the driving duty when needed. Controlling the car is extremely simple too because everything is handled through the steering wheel. For example, the vehicle will start with double tapping on the steering wheel. Pulling the steering wheel will slow down the car, and pushing it will accelerate the car. Honda will unveil the full detail of the concept and visitors at CES will be able to experience a simulated experience.
