After weeks of teasing, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury was finally unveiled to the public at Auto China in Beijing.

While we have previously seen the interior in the teasers, this is the first time we have seen the exterior of this combination of SUV and notchback sedan. The concept is more than five metres long and has a raised ground clearance. The front façade, chrome trims, air intakes and the somewhat sporty look belong to the DNA of a SUV, while the overall silhouette and the rear are particularly sedan looking.

The full electric concept is powered by four motors that generate 750 hp combined and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. The 80 kWh flat underfloor battery offers a range of over 500 kilometres, and a five-minute fast-charge could power the car for around 100 km.

As the concept is designed specially for the Chinese market, its white leather and rose gold interior references Chinese culture. The central console extends to the back of the car and a heated tray with teapot and cups are hidden inside, so that passengers can enjoy their cuppa on the road. We will have to wait and see how the elements from this exquisite concept will be translated into the next luxury SUV from the automaker.
