Federal Moto Grand Trunk Express

The team from Chicago based Federal Moto was invited by the North America arm of Royal Enfield to create a customised version of their famous model Continental GT. After learning Royal Enfield’s Indian Heritage, Federal Moto decided this would be the theme of their reinterpretation of a 2014 Continental GT.

The motorcycle’s name, Grand Trunk Express, is taken from one of India’s oldest and longest railway lines; Federal Moto also borrowed its paint scheme for the bike. The subframe was replaced, as was the seat, rear cowl, gas tank, side covers, electrical tray and battery. The swing-arm was retained with a new fabricated frame in blue hooking up to a mono shock system and held together with a powder coated yellow Triumph Speed Triple unit. A mid-70s Honda CB360 fuel tank was reshaped and painted using the Indian Railway’s colour scheme; the engine was finished in satin black with bare aluminium covers for keeping it low profile. A vintage style single headlight with discreet LED turn signals lights the way in front, with an embedded LED tail light behind the brown leather seat.
