Christmas will be here in less than two weeks and the latest special collections from Converse released this month could well be the perfect option for your Christmas present list.

It has been a year of crossovers for British fashion designer JW Anderson. In addition to the JW Anderson X Uniqlo line, Anderson is also collaborating with Converse. The first shoe from the collaboration is “Glitter_Gutter”, featuring the classic Chuck Taylor and Thunderbolt sneakers recreated in bold colours and completely glitter-ised. As the designer himself suggested, these shoes are about pairing the iconic silhouettes with something unexpected, and “taking the glitter out of context and wearing it with a pair of washed chinos, for example.”

The latest Converse x CLOT collaboration is dedicated to the Fastbreak basketball shoe, reimagining it through the design theme “80 North” and referencing the merging of cultures across the Arctic that connects people, places and ideas. The two colourways available, purple with bright red or light and dark blues, are inspired by beautiful outdoor landscapes.

The Urban Utility collection sees the classic hi-top Chuck ’70 reconstructed as a Gore-Tex waterproof hiker. Taking inspiration from the Yosemite-style hiking shoes of the 1970s, the new hiker features a patchwork of different materials including reflective nylons, foams and canvas. Additionally, Italian streetwear house Slam Jam and visual artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt have created a tee for the collection, featuring a slogan from Dewitt – “Your Silence Gets You Nothing” – in various languages and is available in three colours: green, black and white.

The Clot Fastbreak and the Urban Utility collection have already been dropped, while the JW Anderson collection will hit stores globally on 14 December.
