We have seen the beautiful hardtop version of Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, now the soft top Volante has arrived and it looks, dare we say, even more attractive than its predecessor.    

Aston Martin aims to retain the coupe’s “powerful dynamics, aggressive poise, and astonishing performance” and has clearly achieved that. The performance parameters are almost identical as the coupe. All thanks to the 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine and new ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox With 715 hp and 900 Nm. The Volante manages to complete 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.6 seconds, just 0.2 second behind the coupe. The top speed is kept at 340 km/h, making Volante the fastest open top from the automaker.

Aston Martin also emphasises on the quality of the roof, which takes 14 seconds to open and 16 seconds to close and can be controlled through the remote key. The advanced fabric system could bear extra heat and coldness and has been put through more than 100,000 cycles for testing its durability.

Lastly, an extensive range of customisation is available for the flagship GT model, from 2×2 twill carbon fibre window screen, tonneau cover and rear waterfall, finely-woven carbon fibre interior panels to tinted carbon fibre options.
