Electric City Drifter
Volvo premium city car

Volvo has announced that it aims to become the first major automaker to offer only electrified models starting from 2019. Although that will include both hybrid and fully electrified models, it is still a pretty big move. As part of the plan, Volvo will launch five fully electric cars between 2019 to 2021.

Digital artist Subum Lee has come up with the idea of an affordable, city-size car that takes on board Volvo’s design elements. Lee specifically created a smaller car so that people with a limited budget can still enjoy the premium design and finish. Powered by an all electric powertrain, the two-door city car is compact and filled with sleek, aerodynamic lines.

Authorities in many major cities offer different benefits incentives to encourage the purchase of electric vehicles such as tax credits, free parking and dedicated lanes. It is clear that many people are joining the zero emission club and Volvo should be able to latch on to this market with ease.
