Porsche 918 Spyder Off-Road concept

Sports cars are urban creatures meant to strut their flash and speed on smooth pavement. With minimal ground clearance, any travel on a rock covered surface is sure to result in damage. And then there is the Porsche 918 Spyder off-road concept created by Rain Prisk, a visual artist based in Tallinn, Estonia who specialises in automotive design.

The mid-engined plug-in hybrid hyper sports car with a combined power output of 887 hp looks transformed under Rain Prisk’s interpretation. The big, wide tyres elevate the Spyder’s chassis above the rock-strewn paths, de rigour for ripping in the wild. The brush guards and winch, as well auxiliary lights and roof rack give the car the classic Dakar-bound look. Judging by the amount of dirt on the body and the red lashings above the left front wheel arch, it’s already seen its share of exotic adventures.

Until Porsche decides to bring this amazing concept to life, those looking to drive on the wild side will have to be satisfied with the SUV-styled Cayenne and Macan for their off-road kicks.
