“Good design never goes out of fashion,” Vipp founder Holger Nielsen liked to say. Over the years, he’s been proven right — the Vipp pedal bin, now recognized as a design classic, has hardly changed since 1939 despite the passage of time and the Danish company’s expanded product range. Created with pure function in mind, Nielsen’s iconic dustbin featured a big foot for stability, an easy-to-clean dome-shaped steel lid, ears on each side for portability and a rubber ring on the base to protect the floor. It also originally came in a distinctive shade of off white, which is why Vipp is celebrating its founder’s 100th birthday this year with the Anniversary White collection of bins and other bathroom accessories.

The collection itself features two bins, a toilet brush, toothbrush holder and a soap dispenser, all of which are made from powder-coated steel with stainless steel and rubber components. Each piece, fittingly, will be available in off-white starting from next month, offering Vipp fans and design enthusiasts the chance to collect a piece of history.
