2018 KTM X-Bow GT4

Austrian motorcycle maker KTM has only ever produced one car – the stripped-down X-Bow. The lightweight toy has been offered in various different variations throughout the years, and back in 2015, the X-Box GT4 was launched in partnership with Reiter Engineering as a track-only race car. For 2018, a new version has been revealed, with better durability and a lower running cost.

The latest version has undergone a significant overhaul, featuring a stronger Holinger transmission that’s good for 10,000 km before a service is required, while other chassis components have seen a lifespan increase up to 20,000 km. The new car also features new Motec M142 ECU, motorsport cable harness, control panel, traction control and LMP headrest that offer a better and more user-friendly racing experience. The 360hp Audi 2.0-litre engine remains the same.

Pricing starts at €152,360 and Reiter claims “there’s no other car that runs faster lap times for less money” than the X-Box GT4. The new car’s February production allocation is already sold out, but 15 more examples will be produced in Spring 2018.
