A New Ergonomic Classic
Herman Miller Asari Chair

With more offices offering flexible hybrid working or full-time working-from-home arrangements, the demand for home office furniture is understandably on the rise. Herman Miller is one the leading brands in producing beautiful yet comfortable task chairs, and the brand has recently launched a new ergonomic chair called Asari Chair — unlike Herman Miller’s other signature ergonomic chairs, this example is being crafted in a soft form.

Penned by Tokyo-based designer Naoto Fukasawa, the Asari Chair takes its name from the Japanese word for “clam” as its back is inspired by the shape of the sea creature. The upholstered chair, available in high- and mid-back height, provides instant comfort. The user-tailored synchronous self-adjusting tilt provides natural movement, and the trademarked PostureFit ensures the natural alignment of the spine can be fully supported, including the lower back. The contoured seat pad is specially designed too, and is able to minimise pressure points for maximum support.

With eight standard colour options, the Asari Chair is available in leather and two woven textiles constructed with wool and polyester from interior textile creator Maharam. The overall design and the range of colours make this task chair incredibly versatile and ready to unobtrusively slide in to any interior space.
