A special hardbound book, Designed by Apple in California, has been released to commemorate Apple’s late founder Steve Jobs. It chronicles 20 years of Apple’s design covering products from 1998’s iMac, which was the first key product after Steve Jobs’ return, to 2015’s Apple Pencil. Not only the products themselves, but the materials and techniques used by Apple’s design team during development are also documented in the book through 450 photographs. Shot by Andrew Zuckerman, the book features the sort of on-point design and finish you would expect from any other Apple product and was developed over an eight-year period. It is printed on specially-milled German paper with gilded matte silver edges, using eight colour separations and low-ghost inks.

Designed by Apple in California is available in two sizes, small (260 × 324 mm) and large (330 × 413 mm), and can now be purchased on apple.com and in Apple Stores.
