Autodromo has returned to its motorsport roots with the Group B Pegasus Edition, a sharply executed tribute to one of rallying’s most intoxicating eras. Limited to just 70 pieces, this special release marks the brand’s second collaboration with Mobil 1, blending 1980s futurism with motorsport iconography to bring the legendary Mobil 1 Pegasus to the dial of Autodromo’s cult-favourite Group B.
The watch draws inspiration from the short-lived but unforgettable Group B era of 1982 to 1986, a period defined by extreme engineering, exotic materials, and turbocharged madness. Rally cars of the time became rolling laboratories, pushing both performance and human endurance to dangerous limits across ice-slick forests, desert plains, and twisting mountain passes. Autodromo’s Group B series has always channelled that spirit, but the Pegasus Edition distils it with even greater clarity.
At its core is Autodromo’s distinctive bi-metal case construction. A slim, two-part titanium capsule houses a reliable Miyota 9015 automatic movement, while a stainless-steel outer body and DLC-coated integrated bracelet give the watch its crisp, technical aesthetic. Measuring 39 mm in diameter and just 9.9 mm thick, it sits low on the wrist, echoing the minimal, high-tech design language that defined early-1980s consumer electronics and race machinery alike.
The monochrome dial keeps things clean, with a contrasting white chapter ring and the unmistakable Mobil 1 Pegasus rendered in luminous red. The winged horse, long a symbol of speed in motorsport, gives the piece its character. Each caseback is marked “1 of 70,” alongside the Mobil 1 and Autodromo logos, reinforcing both its rarity and the significance of this collaboration.
