Italian Craft For A Japanese Soul
Pininfarina x JAS Motorsport NSX restomod

Two Italian heavyweights of the automotive world are joining forces to reinterpret one of Japan’s greatest icons. JAS Motorsport, Honda Racing’s long-term partner, has revealed new details about its first high-performance road car, developed in collaboration with the legendary design house Pininfarina. Based on the 1990-generation Honda NSX, the project seeks to deliver a modern expression of grand touring spirit, blending performance, balance, and driver engagement while staying true to the original philosophy.

Now advancing through development in Milan, the prototype is being “dressed” by Pininfarina ahead of a strictly limited production run at JAS Motorsport’s Atelier in Arluno. The car will feature a fully carbon-fibre body, sculpted by Pininfarina to combine timeless proportions with cutting-edge aerodynamics. Each example will begin as a donor chassis from the early 1990s, re-engineered and upgraded with mechanical expertise from JAS Motorsport.

Inside, Pininfarina has reimagined the NSX’s clean, driver-focused cockpit, preserving its intuitive layout while elevating materials and detailing to modern standards. Under the engine cover, a naturally aspirated V6 inspired by the original unit is being developed for maximum power, torque, and responsiveness, paired with a six-speed manual for an authentic driving experience.

Both left- and right-hand-drive versions are planned for this yet-to-be-named restomod, which is set to make its public debut in the first half of 2026.
