Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons has collaborated with Danish textile specialist Kvadrat since 2014. The latest spawn of this collab is an accessory collection titled ‘Shaker System’.

For the latest collection, Simons drew inspiration from the aesthetics of the Shaker culture, which channels the spirit of simplicity and functionality, reshaping the concept of storage, The centre of the collection is the wall-mounted Shaker System horizontal bar, which defines the interior space and offers a place to hang accessories. The bar is made of powder-coated aluminium and upholstered in Vidar 4 – the already-appreciated fabric from the existing Kvadrat/Raf Simons collection – and is available in two lengths and four colours: black, dark green, off-white and pink.

The accessory options cover a wide range of products, including a lambswool throw and cushion, a double-faced wool throw, a leather magazine strap, and an accessory box. Some of these products can be used in different ways. For example, the leather mirror tray can be hung on the bar or placed on a surface vertically as a mirror, but it can also be placed on a tabletop to be used as a tray.

Kvadrat has opened a dedicated store in Copenhagen for the collection, and it can also be found in fashion stores worldwide including Dover Street Market, 10 Corso Como, Browns, Ssense, and Matches.
