Roaming Revolution
Nissan e-NV200 WORKSPACe
Hot desking has been the recent trend for both big corporations and startups for better efficiency and staff work-life balance. Nissan has taken this idea further and teamed up with UK design workshop Studio Hardie to convert the zero emission e-NV200 van into the world’s first all-electric mobile office. The e-NV200 WORKSPACe is suitable for businesses with a small team. Not only can you literally “work as you go”, but you can also potentially help save the cost of rent as a parking space would be less expensive, and many locations offer free EV charging.
Keeping the two seats at the front while completely transforming the 4.2m³ load bay, the e-NV200 WORKSPACe has two additional chrome and leather chairs, one of which can move to the centre. The van features an integrated fold-out desk, premium oak flooring, touchscreen computer, wireless internet, smartphone-controlled LED lights, wireless phone charging and a Bluetooth audio system to support different work requirements. It also embraces the users’ lifestyle needs with a mini fridge and built-in espresso machine. The sliding side doors and the split rear doors combined with the pull-out floating deck can create almost a patio-like atmosphere which is perfect for days with excellent weather. There’s even an inside mount for a folding Brompton Bike for added mobility.
While e-NV200 WORKSPACe is just a prototype, its 170 km range on a single charge and its capability of recharging from empty to 80% power in just 30 minutes means the concept is quite realistic.
