Rejuvenating A 100 Year-Old Car
Mitsubishi Re-Model A

Mitsubishi built their very first mass production car, the Model A, in 1917. Now, 100 years on, the automaker has teamed up with legendary aftermarket shop West Coast Customs to re-imagine the car with today’s technology.

The updated car is named the ‘Re-Model A’ and its original 35-hp 2.8-litre four-cylinder has been replaced with the plug-in hybrid electric drivetrain of the Outlander SUV. The Re-Model A keeps the original iconic look and style, but the body was slightly stretched for pairing with the Outlander’s chassis. Upgraded door panels, a modern steering wheel and emergency brake were then added, as well as the latest technologies including Super All-Wheel Control and Forward Collision Mitigation. Once the transformation has been completed, the Re-Model A will be exhibited in various events and auto shows the United States.
