Perfect Power Up
Philippe Starck designs a Power Dock for the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid

At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, British car manufacturer Bentley unveiled the first true luxury hybrid – the Bentayga Hybrid. With its plug-in hybrid powertrain, consisting of an electric motor and an all-new V6 motor, the Bentayga Hybrid not only delivers an effortless driving experience, its combined NEDC CO2 emissions of 75 g/km also make for a near-silent, yet powerful, driving experience.

While Bentley has not yet disclosed the power output and fuel economy figures of the Bentayga Hybrid, the automaker has collaborated with renowned French designer Philippe Starck, to create the Bentley x Starck Power Dock, especially for the hybrid SUV. The elegant recharging unit is made with sustainable materials, while its domed face is designed using a hot-pressure aluminium casting. The battery can be fully recharged from empty in only 2.5 hours from the Power Dock if it’s plugged into an industrial power supply, which is faster than charging from a regular wall outlet (7.5 hours).

This piece of uniquely stylish, artistically-driven accessory will only be available following the launch of the Bentayga Hybrid, which will be available to order in select markets in the second half of 2018.
