Louis Vuitton has finally entered the luxury smartwatch market with the launch of its first connected timepiece, the Tambour Horizon, a new addition to its Tambour timepiece series.

The smartwatch measures 42 mm in diameter and is 12.55 mm thick, featuring the Tambour’s signature drum-shaped case and a 1.2-inch round AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 390×390. The Tambour Horizon runs on the Android Wear 2.0 system with distinctive features that makes it stand out from the crowd, such as the label’s famous “City Guide” app and a downloadable app called “My Flight”.

The City Guide app determines the user’s location and offers instant, and continually updated information on what to see and do in foreign lands, while the My Flight app provides the user with flight status information. Furthermore, it also offers a seamless experience across both Chinese and Western apps: if the user buys the watch in Paris and lands in Shanghai, it will change to the Chinese operating system automatically after rebooting.

The watch charges via a wireless charging station and should last 10 hours on a full charge with regular use.

Available in three different styles including Graphite, Black and Monogram, the Tambour Horizon can be customised with 60 interchangeable strap options, 30 for men and 30 for women, as well as a range of downloadable digital dial faces to mix up the looks.

With prices starting at £1,950 for the case and £235 for a strap, you can find the Tambour Horizon in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide.
