Just For Fun
Toyota Public Sports Car concept

Automotive designer Nobuhiko Honda claims that by 2035, one out of four cars sold will be autonomous, meaning people will pay less attention to driving and even motorsports. That is why he has created the Toyota Public Sports Car concept that offers a fun and accessible driving experience.

Targeting 20 to 40 year olds in 2030 who do not own a car, Honda explains that it would be a service, meaning people can get a sports car like getting an Uber but sit behind the driving wheel. For people who do not know how to drive, they can first learn on VR then train with the AR on board.

For the design, Honda has opted for a relatively small body, with a floor mounted battery pack powering an electric motor that delivers all its energy to the rear axle. The glass canopy and the extra low racing seat inside do not really fit with the almost toy car-like design, but they certainly make the vehicle more exciting and reiterate Honda’s purpose for creating this concept: making driving fun.
