Italian Craft For A Japanese Soul
Pininfarina x JAS Motorsport NSX restomod

Two Italian heavyweights in the automotive scene are teaming up to reinterpret one of Japan’s greatest icons. JAS Motorsport, Honda Racing’s long-term partner, has confirmed fresh details about its first high-performance road car, created in collaboration with the iconic design house Pininfarina. Based on the 1990-generation Honda NSX, the project aims to deliver a contemporary expression of grand touring spirit, combining performance, balance, and driver connection while paying homage to the original philosophy.

Currently advancing through development in Milan, the prototype is being “dressed” by Pininfarina ahead of a strictly limited production run at JAS Motorsport’s Atelier in Arluno. The car will feature a completely carbon fibre body, sculpted by Pininfarina to blend timeless proportions with cutting-edge aerodynamics. Each example will start life as a donor chassis from the early 1990s, re-engineered and upgraded with mechanical input from JAS Motorsport.

Pininfarina has also revisited the original NSX’s clean, driver-focused cockpit, aiming to retain its intuitive ergonomics while updating materials and details to modern standards. Under the engine cover, a naturally aspirated V6 inspired by the original unit is being developed to deliver maximum power, torque, and responsiveness, paired with a six-speed manual for pure performance and driving pleasure.

Both left- and right-hand-drive versions are planned for this restomod project, which is yet to be named. The wraps are expected to come off in the first half of 2026, including the car’s first public unveiling.
