Oris x Bamford Watch Department Limited Edition ‘Mission Control’

Swiss watchmaker Oris has teamed up with London’s Bamford Watch Department to create a striking new collaboration piece, the Limited Edition ‘Mission Control’. Known for its bold approach to watch customisation, Bamford brings a playful, futuristic edge to Oris’s most technical pilot’s watch, the ProPilot Altimeter, resulting in a space-inspired timepiece that feels as experimental as it is functional.

Limited to just 250 pieces, the Mission Control adds bright, tech-driven colour accents to a watch already celebrated for its world-first mechanics, and George Bamford explains the move as adding “an 80s sneaker vibe.” Beneath its high-contrast, ultra-legible dial sits the only automatic watch in the world to combine a mechanical movement with a fully functioning altimeter, capable of displaying both air pressure and altitude scale of up to 19,700 feet. For pilots, adventurers and alike, it’s a true pioneering timepiece serving specific purpose.

The 47 mm case is fashioned from carbon fibre composite, a material prized for being lighter than plastic yet stronger than steel, making it an ideal shell for such advanced engineering. Paired with grey PVD-plated titanium, a domed sapphire crystal and a water resistance of 100 metres, the Mission Control is built to withstand the extremes. Powering it all is the Oris Calibre 793, an automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour for reliable precision.

Bamford’s influence comes through in the vibrant details: bold flashes of colour elevate the functional displays, giving the watch an almost sci-fi edge without compromising its professional credentials. A black textile strap completes the look, while each piece is delivered in a special box, individually numbered out of 250 for its exclusivity.
