Embodying The Supercar Spirit
Richard Mille RM 65-01 McLaren W1

With the unveiling of McLaren’s most powerful street-legal supercar, the McLaren W1, Richard Mille introduces the RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph McLaren W1. This special edition marks the fourth watch in the ongoing collaboration between the two brands.

Reflecting the spirit of the supercar, the limited-edition RM 65-01 McLaren W1 incorporates shared materials and design elements. The bespoke 43.84 x 49.94 x 16.19 mm case is crafted from carbon TPT, mirroring the W1’s compact shape and muscular lines. Inspired by the W1’s “aero-cell” architecture, the indented double bezel features a carbon TPT bezel atop a satin-finished and polished grade 5 titanium second bezel. Remarkably, the bezel’s thinnest section is just 0.5 mm thick, setting a new record for Richard Mille. Inside, the skeletonised titanium dial, designed to evoke McLaren’s wheel rim patterns and dashboard aesthetics, adds a dynamic touch.

Powered by the in-house RMAC4 calibre, the watch maintains the same performance as the standard RM 65-01, with a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour and a 60-hour power reserve. Its split-seconds chronograph function can measure elapsed time to one-tenth of a second. The skeletonised design and sapphire crystal caseback showcases the intricate details of the 480-part movement, including the grade 5 titanium baseplate and bridges.

McLaren design cues are further highlighted with papaya orange accents on the dial, crown, rapid winding pusher, and rubber strap. The crown’s tip bears McLaren’s Speedmark, while the strap’s design reflects the aerodynamic shapes of the W1’s engine cover and spoilers. The RM 65-01 McLaren W1 is limited to just 500 units.
