Dandy Rotation
Ressence x Mr. Porter Type 1 MRP

Belgian industrial designer Benoît Mintiens founded Ressence in 2010 with the core design philosophy of expressing “time in the purest possible way”. The brand, which has been carried by Mr. Porter since 2015, just launched two exclusive limited styles for the online fashion retailer based on their signature Type 1 model.

All Ressence watches are designed and engineered in Antwerp, Belgium, and are produced and assembled in Fleurier, Switzerland. Stripped of the traditional hands, the watches are powered by the patented ROCS (Ressence Orbital Convex System) module driven by a customised 2824/2 base movement. In the particular style of Type 1, the minute-markers stay at the same positions and the largest orbiting disk rotates once per hour to indicate the minute. The sub-disks inside the largest disk display the hours, seconds and days of the week and are in constant rotation, offering a dynamic and interesting layout.

Two exclusive colourways are available for the Ressence Type 1 MRP. The titanium version features a 42 mm case made of Grade-5 titanium with a navy and silver dial, paired with a navy leather strap and limited to 12 pieces. Another version is made of rose gold and grade-five titanium, has a sandblasted ivory dial and a brown leather strap and limited to six pieces only.
