David Umemoto

Canadian artist David Umemoto has always keen on creating concrete sculptures in different form and shapes, and among all his architecture sculptures can most demonstrate his ability in building and designing space. He has indicated that choosing concrete as the material in his works is mostly because of the imperfections and rawness that it brings to the work, and the great effect of shadow when it is in touch of light. While this choice reflects his preference of plainness and feeling with hands, it also explains why his work are rich in a basic way. Take a look at his sculptures, you may wonder if there are such places or architectures on earth that look exactly like these.
