Toulouse-based motorcycle maker Brough Superior may not be a household name, but its stunning machines have attracted the attention of major players. Aston Martin, for instance, has previously collaborated with the brand. Now, the company has partnered with Swiss luxury watchmaker Richard Mille to launch a limited-edition motorcycle — the RMB01.
This unique, track-focused bike draws inspiration from early 20th-century American boardtrack racing, channelling a raw, radical spirit. Richard Mille himself played a hands-on role in the design direction, which is evident in the bike’s lightness and extensive skeletonisation. With dynamic lines, sensual curves, an elongated tank, a minimalist seat, and a fully exposed engine, the RMB01 is sculpted for aerodynamic downforce and high-speed stability.
At its core, the RMB01 features a CNC-machined aluminium frame with a forged carbon exoskeleton, housing a structural 997 cc water-cooled DOHC 88˚ V-twin engine entirely milled from solid aircraft-grade alloy. Producing 190 hp, the engine is paired with a six-speed cassette-type gearbox and a multi-plate oil-bath clutch.
Watchmaking aesthetics run deep throughout the design, from the mechanical speedometer and innovative material use to the layered wheel structure reminiscent of gear trains. Custom wheels with rim hoops and flanges are assembled on CNC-machined aluminium hubs, reinforcing the mechanical theme. A prominent Richard Mille logo ensures the collaboration is clearly signposted.
The RMB01 is offered in three distinctive versions. The Nocturnal Sapphire features glossy dark blue body panels and front mudguard, a frosted anthracite grey aerodynamic kit, and blue accents. The Selene variant features a matte anthracite grey body, matte forged carbon aero elements, and orange detailing. Finally, the Pearl of Speed edition is finished in matte pearl-white with matte forged carbon aerodynamics and striking red accents. Only 150 examples will be produced.
