After hosting the world’s largest gaming beta in August, the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 finally launched on 10 October, and it’s already shaping up to be the biggest entry in the series yet.
Set in 2027, it drops players into a world on the brink of collapse, where a powerful private military force known as Pax Armata rises to fill the global power vacuum.
Built around the franchise’s signature chaos, Battlefield 6 aims to deliver what EA calls “the ultimate all-out warfare experience.” Multiplayer remains at its core, featuring nine sprawling, destructible maps that range from the peaks of Tajikistan to the underbelly of Manhattan Bridge and the outskirts of Cairo. Classic modes like Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush return alongside Escalation, a fresh twist on tactical large-scale combat. The fan-favourite Portal mode also makes a comeback, allowing players to remix the Battlefield formula with custom maps, rules, and nostalgic recreations.
For those craving a narrative edge, the single-player campaign follows Dagger 13, a squad of elite U.S. Marines waging war against Pax Armata across nine globe-trotting missions packed with blockbuster action and cinematic spectacle.
EA promises this is only the beginning. Season 1, launching 28 October, introduces Rogue Ops — new maps, modes, and a steady stream of updates through the end of the year.
Battlefield 6 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, the EA App, and the Epic Games Store.
