RICOH THETA S
A New 360° Spherical Camera with Live Streaming.

RICOH released the first duo fish eye lens THETA in 2013. In order to offer users with a revolutionary shooting experience, it uses a whole new perspective to capture scenes of the everyday life, allowing users to document and share their exclusive “small planet” with each other. Two years later, today, the factory releases an advanced model, the THETA S, with lens which are upgraded to ½.3” CMOS and f2.0 in aperture. This pushes the quality of its image output at 1,400 megapixel, and allows for full HD panoramic film of 25 minutes in length (1920 x 1080p/ 30fps, at 1920 x 960p when viewed).

At the same time, it is added with real-time viewing functions via a dedicated mobile app. This way, the smartphone can be used at the same time of shooting, for checking the exposure, the white balance, and to view any spherical panoramic images; it can even act as the remote for the self-timer. Apart from that, its connectivity with Wi-Fi has been further enhanced, delivering transfers at a speed of nearly four times faster than its previous model. As per control, THETA S has an image/ video capture switch button on the side of the machine, making operation smooth and simple. Coupled with a mode display, it makes it very easy for the user to view the current settings they are operating on.
