World’s Fastest Roller Coaster
Falcon's Flight at Six Flags Qiddiya

There’s very little international travel going on at the moment, but that doesn’t mean it’s always going to be that way. While we wait, there’s no harm in making plans for travel when normalcy returns, and one place worth consideringis the giant new Six Flags Qiddiya them park in Saudi Arabia, due to open in 2023. The new park is going to be absolutely huge, and features a ride that is set to become the longest, fastest, and tallest roller coaster in the world.

Located just outside Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, Six Flags Qiddiya will be the very first established theme park in the country, and is a joint venture between the Qiddiya Investment Company and American theme park veteran Six Flags. Taking up 32 hectares of land and offering 28 rides and attractions across six themed lands, the new Six Flags will also feature the record-breaking Falcon’s Flight roller coaster.

Project partner Intamin Amusement Rides has already kicked off the design process of the Falcon’s Flight. Each ride will take up to 20 passengers on a three minute thrilling experience. The ride is around 4 km long and includes diving down a cliff and along a 160-metre deep valley at over 250 km/h, which will be achieved with the use of magnetic motor acceleration (LSM technology). This will firmly position it as the greatest drop of any roller coaster in the world. It looks like fun, if you can handle it.
