Virtual Electric Racer
Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupé

Jaguar has revealed the Vision Gran Turismo Coupé and judging by its name, it can be easily guessed this electric hyper car will only exist in the world of the PS4 game Gran Turismo Sport.

The futuristic virtual sports car seems to have gone through a design process not far from a real car. Created from scratch by a team of young designers at Jaguar, the all-electric, all-wheel drive race car follows the linage of Le Mans-winning C-type and D-type racers but is infused with a vision for the future. Technically the Vision Gran Turismo Coupé also references Jaguar’s I-Type 4 and eTrophy race cars and is powered by three motors producing 1005 hp and 1200 Nm, with a 0-100km/h acceleration in less than two seconds.

The virtual sports EV features a monocoque made of carbon-fibre composites and aluminium alloys, allowing for a light weight of  just 1,400kg and near 50:50 weight distribution. At the back the deployable active aero wing ensures the best downforce levels. The interior is ever more dramatic and racing intended, with an AI assistant named KITT-E that has a holographic appearance. For those who miss the engine sound the Vision GT Coupé has a soundtrack based on the 1957 Le Mans podium-finishing ‘603’ Long Nose D-type and its race-spec 3.8 litre XK engine.

Gran Turismo Sport gamers can expect to see the Vision GT Coupé in the game starting from end of November.
