Vertical Takeoff
DeLorean Aerospace DR-7

The name DeLorean, in pop culture, will always be linked to Back to the Future, in which the DeLorean car is used as time machine and is capable of flight in the sequel film. When seeing the DeLorean Aerospace DR-7, it’s difficult not to think about those films.

While CEO and chief designer of DeLorean Aerospace, Paul DeLorean,is  a relative of the original DeLorean founder John, the company is a brand new startup. Its first product is the DR-7, a two-seat vertical takeoff and landing personal air transport vehicle. The company’s aim with the aircraft is to offer practical and accessible air mobility. The lightweight aircraft is equipped with a zero-emission electric power system and an industry-first centerline twin vectoring propulsion system for improved efficiency and safety.

For the next move, the company is pending patent approval on a few features and will develop a full scale prototype that operates with a range of 120 miles.
