Timex x Todd Snyder MK-1 Sky King

Long-term collaborators Timex and Todd Snyder have just launched their latest special timepiece. The two American brands have teamed up to create the MK-1 Sky King, the very first chronograph bearing the fashion designer’s name.

The MK-1 Sky King draws inspiration from utilitarian watches worn by the American military, with the style based on an archival watch from the late 1960s. Underneath the domed acrylic crystal of the 42 mm watch is a dial updated with chronograph details. The date window is positioned at 3 o’clock, and the three sub-dials that track seconds, minutes and hours are placed at the 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions respectively. While the blaze orange dial with unpolished stainless steel case stays true to the utility watch style, another version with a black dial and white details also shares the aesthetics of modern pilot watches.

Both versions are powered by a quartz movement and are water resistant to 50 metres — both are also paired with an olive canvas strap made of recycled fabrics and backed with tan leather lining. At such an affordable price — US$ 178 — the MK-1 Sky King is a fun yet attractive addition to any watch collection.
