Spring is here, and that means unpredictable temperatures out on the trails. American outdoor sportswear brand Patagonia has just released its new R1 Air collection — it’s lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying — and it’s perfect for this time of year.

Created specifically for high-output activity in changing weather, the fabric used in R1 Air pieces is made of 100% recycled polyester jacquard fleece and is certified as Bluedesign approved. The unique zigzag texture of the fleece helps to wick moisture, provide more breathability and trap warmth, while the HeiQ Fresh durable odour control ensures you’re kept fresh during high-exertion activities. The collection is also designed to offer extra comfort during intense movement — the offset shoulder seams, for example, sit comfortably under the straps of a backpack, and the specific quick-drying woven binding at the back hem and cuffs provides added stretch and improved fit.

The R1 Air collection is available in various colours and styles, including R1 Air Full-Zip Hoody and R1 Air Zip-Neck for men and women, and R1 Air Crew for men. Like most Patagonia collections, all R1 Air items are Fair Trade Certified sewn.
