Under The Open Sky
Skydancer Apéro

The majority of the camperrvans on the market look pretty much the same, either ordinary or luxurious. At the CMT 2019 in Stuttgart, we were introduced to an unusual RV called Skydancer Apéro which the manufacturer described as the first motorhome with a convertible top.

Piotr Kubinski started to built this prototype 5 years ago using a Mercedes Atego. It received some really great feedback as it toured around different cities. With all the positive response, Kubinski was determined to bring the prototype into production where the  concept is built on a Fiat Ducato. It’s powered by a 150-hp, 2.3-litre Multijet engine but it can be replaced by an electric motor.

The RV contains a living area at the back and driver’s cockpit in the front. The two areas are connected, with the driver’s cockpit on a higher level and under an electrically operated roof. The open area is sufficient to sit four people and there are even two foldable tables for al fresco dining under the stars. There are so many other possibilities such as a semi-double bed in the cockpit if necessary. As for the living area, it is somewhat practical looking and features a double bed, kitchenette with gas stove and sink, a large fridge, plenty of storage area and a toilet with a hidden sink. There’s no seating at the back but this is probably not necessary when you can enjoy the open breeze at the front.
