McLaren Senna GTR

McLaren has brought the remarkable Senna to another level with the new track-only Senna GTR production model.

While the McLaren Senna is already a track-focused car from the marque’s Ultimate Series, the new Senna GTR is more powerful and lighter for faster lap times and even better performance. It offers 25 hp more over the street-legal Senna, with 814 hp coming from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V-8 now without the secondary catalyst system. This also makes the sound even better.

The concept version of the GTR – introduced at last year’s Geneva Motor Show – had the exhaust pipes on the side. The production car switches to a more conventional system that is same as the base model, which is more efficient while keeping down the weight. The wing has been re-profiled and relocated, and with changes to the body the Senna GTR generates over 1,000 kg of downforce, 200 kg over the road going version and at 15 percent lower speed.

The GTR is 10 kg lighter than the road car with wider and lower interior. Luxuries such as touchscreen, infotainment system and airbags were removed and replaced with pneumatic air jacks, fire extinguishing system and an onboard camera system.

Priced from £1.1 million each, sadly all 75 McLaren Senna GTRs were allocated not long after the concept was launched last year.
