Paul Smith and Globe-Trotter are two British brands that stand for contemporary fashion design and exquisite craftsmanship respectively. During the annual Salone del Mobile in Milan, the duo has unveiled a special collaboration that brings together the expertise of Globe-Trotter and the colours of Paul Smith – the Paul Smith for Globe-Trotter case.
The collaborative effort adds distinctive colours to the signature 20” Trolley Case. Paul Smith’s iconic Artist Stripe is featured on the leather corners of the case (which are all cut by hand), and also appears as a bold accent on the leather handle and the luggage straps within the case.
What has made the Globe-Trotter successful throughout the years its its remarkable level of British craftsmanship, and the collaboration with Paul Smith is no exception. Each trolley case takes 10 days, 9 hours and 35 minutes to produce, and includes 98 individual processes and the skill of numerous artisans who ply their trade in the company’s Hertfordshire workshop. In Sir Paul’s words: “It’s a fantastic finish to lots of hard work”.
In recognition of Globe-Trotter’s recent 120th anniversary, this unique case is limited to 120 examples worldwide, with each case is individually numbered and hand signed by Sir Paul.
