Truly Portable VR
HP Z VR Backpack

Computers are desktops and laptops,  right? Maybe not. HP has unveiled a new concept, which would see us wearing our computers as backpacks. The HP Z VR Backpack is the world’s first professional wearable VR PC and is designed not just for VR games but also other business potentials.

The PC can be conveniently worn on the back with the specifically designed harness, so that the user can be immersed in the VR experience with no mobility limitations. The harness just weighs around 10 pounds with batteries and PC added on, while the hot-swappable dual-battery system allows swapping power cells on the fly. Alternatively it can be docked and used like a standard desktop. In terms of specifications, the computer is equipped with a Core i7 vPro processor and a NVIDIA Quadro P5200 16GB GPU that is good to go for the latest VR requirements.

HP suggests the Z VR Backpack can be used for simulated training in dangerous environments or medical training, virtual walkthroughs for architectural projects, virtual showrooms for product designs and new location-based entertainment centres with VR experiences. The Z VR officially launches in late September.
