Louis Vuitton unveils the official 2018 FIFA World Cup trophy case

With the 2018 FIFA World Cup is right around the corner, Louis Vuitton has unveiled the official match trophy case for the world’s biggest sporting event. Marking Louis Vuitton’s third participation in the FIFA World Cup since 2010, the bespoke case features a laser-engraved titanium monogram, which is the same material used in the brand’s FW18 menswear collection. It is fitted with the company’s signature brass lock and corners, ruthenium-made lock and clasps, as well as a dark grey metal that features the chemical symbol Ru, in reference to the tournament’s 2018 host country. Handmade in Asnieres, France, the trophy case will be revealed on the pitch in Moscow at the Opening Match on 14 June, and at the Final on 15 July.

Meanwhile, the French luxury fashion house also teamed up with Adidas to create the FIFA World Cup Official Match Ball Collection Trunk. The limited-edition trunk not only features iconic Monogram canvas, but also holds 13 re-editions of the Official Match balls used at the World Cup since 1970 and one Louis Vuitton specially-designed football. Only 21 of these will be available for purchase worldwide.
